This study analyzed the KRTAP7 protein structure and function in four Indian dromedary camel breeds, revealing that all breeds shared an identical KRTAP7 gene sequence encoding an 87 amino acid protein. The analysis identified 13 phosphorylation sites, S-S bonding patterns, glycosylation sites, high hydrophilicity, and specific amino acid proportions, but no signal peptides or internal acetylation sites. The study used bioinformatics tools to predict the protein's biophysical properties, subcellular localization, and interactions with other regulatory genes and proteins involved in keratin biosynthesis and hair characteristics, contributing to understanding hair quality variations among camel breeds.
