TLDR Laser hair removal effectively reduces hidradenitis suppurativa symptoms with few side effects.
Laser hair removal (LHR) has been shown to significantly improve the severity of hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) by targeting hair follicles, which play a key role in the disease's pathogenesis. Despite the complexity and heterogeneity of HS and the use of different disease scoring methods, all included studies in the systematic review and meta-analysis demonstrated that LHR is an effective treatment option with minimal adverse effects, regardless of the laser device used.
