The Use of a Light-Emitting Diode Device for Neck Rejuvenation and Its Safety on Thyroid Glands

TLDR The LED device safely improves neck skin appearance without affecting thyroid function.

The study assessed the safety and efficacy of a home-use LED device for neck rejuvenation in 30 adult women over 16 weeks. It found significant improvements in neck skin appearance, including hydration, elasticity, and density, with these benefits persisting 8 weeks after stopping the device. The Lemperle wrinkle scale and global improvement scales confirmed these enhancements. Importantly, there were no significant changes in thyroid function or morphology, indicating the device's safety for thyroid and parathyroid glands. The study concluded that the LED device was safe and effective for neck rejuvenation without adverse effects on thyroid health.
