TLDR A miner developed extra shoulder hair due to long-term work pressure and inflammation.
This case report discusses a miner who developed localized acquired hypertrichosis (LAH) of terminal hair on his shoulder due to inflammation and local pressure from over 20 years of mining work. Typically, LAH arises after surgery, injections, or wearing a plaster cast and tends to resolve once the causative factor is removed. In this case, statistical analysis revealed no significant difference in hair thickness between the miner's shoulders. The report includes scanning electron microscope images of the hair.
