Treatment of Malassezia Dermatitis in a Domestic Dog

    TLDR Stella fully recovered from Malassezia dermatitis after 4 weeks of treatment.
    A 3-month-old female puppy named Stella was diagnosed with Malassezia dermatitis, presenting with chronic pruritus and generalized hair loss. Examination revealed alopecia, hyperpigmentation, and skin thickening. High levels of Malassezia sp. were detected, while other infections were ruled out. Treatment included Sebazole® shampoo, apple cider vinegar, virgin coconut oil, and diphenhydramine. After 4 weeks, Stella showed significant improvement, with complete recovery marked by the resolution of symptoms and hair regrowth.
