TLDR A rare pigmented skin tumor called melanotrichoblastoma was diagnosed in a 51-year-old woman.
This case report describes a rare instance of melanotrichoblastoma, a pigmented variant of trichoblastoma, in a 51-year-old female. The patient presented with a lesion on the right lateral edge of the mons pubis, initially resembling an ingrown hair. Histological examination revealed a blue basaloid tumor with a significant pigment component, sharply demarcated from surrounding tissues. Immunohistochemistry showed strong positivity for epithelial markers and limited positivity for melanocytic markers in dendritic melanocytes, with a low proliferative index, leading to the diagnosis of melanotrichoblastoma.
