The narrative review discusses the impact of menopause on skin quality, highlighting the decline in estrogen as a key factor leading to decreased collagen production, reduced elasticity, and moisture loss. Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) has been shown to improve skin quality by enhancing collagen synthesis, elasticity, and hydration, although clinical guidelines do not currently support its use solely for skin improvement due to insufficient robust trials. The review identifies a gap in awareness among women regarding menopause's effects on skin and notes the lack of aesthetic studies focusing on menopausal status or HRT use. It emphasizes the need for future research to include demographic data and analyses related to menopause and HRT, given the increasing interest in aesthetic treatments among menopausal women.
