TLDR Bicalutamide mesotherapy may help with hair loss and seborrhea but needs more research.
The study evaluated the use of bicalutamide mesotherapy in six premenopausal women with Olsen Grade II or III androgenetic alopecia and significant seborrhea. Each patient received three monthly sessions of 1 ml bicalutamide 0.5% mixed with 1 ml lidocaine 2%. Results showed a subtle improvement in hair density after the third session, though this did not persist at the 6-month follow-up. Patients reported a decrease in seborrhea and an overall satisfaction score of 6.3 out of 10. The treatment was well-tolerated, suggesting potential as an adjuvant therapy for androgenetic alopecia, but further studies are needed to optimize the treatment protocol.
