TLDR MMP® with minoxidil may improve hair growth in chronic telogen effluvium.
This case report examines the use of Microinfusion of drugs into the skin (MMP®) with minoxidil for treating chronic telogen effluvium (CTE) in a 28-year-old female. Over three monthly sessions, MMP® with 0.5% minoxidil was applied to the right scalp, followed by daily 5% minoxidil application. Results showed a modest improvement in hair density, with an increase of 47 hairs in the parieto-vertex region. The treatment was well-tolerated, suggesting that MMP® may enhance minoxidil's effectiveness by activating growth factors and the Wnt signaling pathway. However, further research with larger, controlled trials is necessary to confirm its efficacy.
