TLDR Fibronectin nanogel microneedles improve skin health and wound healing.
The study introduces fibronectin nanogel microneedles (FNG MNs) designed to enhance tissue penetration and transdermal delivery for anti-aging and diabetic wound healing applications. These FNG MNs, with an average size of 82.0 nm, demonstrate excellent stability, cytocompatibility, and the ability to penetrate cell spheroids. In a photoaged mouse model, they restore skin homeostasis by normalizing epidermal thickness and reducing inflammation and oxidative stress. In a diabetic wound rat model, they promote collagen deposition, hair follicle neogenesis, and angiogenesis while reducing Yes-associated protein expression. The FNG MNs offer a promising approach for various biomedical applications due to their multifunctional properties.
