TLDR Microneedling radiofrequency improves skin texture and tone by stimulating collagen and elastin.
Microneedling radiofrequency (MRF) is a minimally invasive cosmetic dermatology procedure that effectively treats various skin conditions, including acne, acne scars, skin rejuvenation, and axillary hyperhidrosis, with minimal recovery time. It combines microneedling and radiofrequency to stimulate dermal remodeling and collagen production. MRF is suitable for all skin types and can be customized for specific conditions by adjusting parameters like needle depth and pulse duration. A study involving 19 participants with androgenetic alopecia (AGA) showed a 29% increase in hair count when MRF was combined with topical minoxidil. While MRF is generally safe, precautions are necessary to prevent side effects such as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, particularly in darker skin types. Further research is needed to confirm its efficacy across different conditions.
