TLDR Minoxidil 0.25 mg with spironolactone 25 mg reduces hair loss and improves hair density in women.
The corrigendum addressed errors in a previous publication regarding the use of minoxidil and spironolactone for female pattern hair loss (FPHL). The correct dosage of minoxidil was 0.25 mg, not 2.5 mg, when combined with spironolactone 25 mg. This combination showed favorable outcomes, including reduced hair shedding and improved hair density, with a mean reduction in hair shedding score of 2.3 at 6 months and 2.6 at 12 months. Mild adverse effects such as urticaria, postural hypotension, and facial hypertrichosis were reported. The authors acknowledged the errors and clarified that the reduction in severity score pertained to the visual-analogue Sinclair hair shedding scale.
