TLDR miRNA-211 reduces melanin in Cashmere goats by suppressing AP1S2.
The study investigates the role of miRNA-211 in the melanogenesis of Cashmere goats by targeting the AP1S2 gene. Through various experiments, including dual-luciferase reporter assays and RT-qPCR, it was found that miRNA-211 downregulates AP1S2 expression. This downregulation was confirmed in B16-F10 cells and goat skin, showing opposite expression trends between miRNA-211 and AP1S2. Animal regression studies further confirmed that miRNA-211 affects melanogenesis by reducing melanin content in the skin. The study concludes that miRNA-211 significantly influences the melanogenesis process in Cashmere goats by suppressing AP1S2, thereby affecting the melanin content in their skin.
