TLDR Early diagnosis and treatment can effectively manage mite infestations in goats.
A 3-month-old goat with progressive alopecia and severe pruritus was diagnosed with Psoroptes spp. mites and other ectoparasites, leading to anemia and other health issues. Treatment with ivermectin, antihistamines, vitamins, and supportive care resulted in significant improvement and complete hair regrowth after one month. This case underscores the importance of early diagnosis and comprehensive treatment in managing psoroptic mange and mixed ectoparasitic infestations in goats.
