TLDR Moth-eaten hair loss can be a sign of syphilis.
A 28-year-old man from Nepal exhibited moth-eaten alopecia as the only symptom of secondary syphilis, confirmed by a positive RPR test (1:256). After a three-week treatment with Benzathine Penicillin G, the patient experienced complete hair regrowth within four months. This case highlights the importance of considering moth-eaten alopecia as a potential indicator of secondary syphilis, even when it is the sole clinical manifestation.
