TLDR Mulberry leaves may help manage diabetes.
The study investigated the effects of mulberry leaf decoction on streptozotocin-induced diabetic brown rats, Rattus norvegicus. Over 14 days, diabetic rats treated with a decoction of mulberry leaves (20 g/L) showed reduced blood glucose levels, restrained glycogen loss in the liver, and histological improvements in pancreatic and renal tissues. These findings suggested that mulberry leaves could regulate altered metabolic processes and manage diabetes. The study concluded that mulberry, Morus alba, holds potential as a therapeutic option for diabetes management, though further research was recommended to confirm its practical applications.
