Development and Evaluation of Nanoemulgel Loaded with Minoxidil

    TLDR The new minoxidil nanoemulgel may treat hair loss more effectively with fewer side effects.
    The study developed a minoxidil (MXD) nanoemulgel aimed at improving the treatment of androgenetic alopecia by enhancing follicular delivery and reducing side effects. The formulation, which includes oleic acid, propylene glycol, and Tween 20, achieved a negative zeta potential of -27 ± 1 and a high entrapment efficiency of 96.2 ± 4.02%. In vitro tests demonstrated sustained release of MXD, suggesting that this nanoemulgel could offer a more effective and patient-friendly alternative to traditional MXD treatments for androgenetic alopecia.
