TLDR Nanofat injections may improve hair graft survival in scarred areas.
This study investigated the effect of nanofat injection before hair transplantation in 18 patients with secondary cicatricial alopecia. The nanofat, harvested from the abdomen and injected into the scar, aimed to improve the survival rate of hair grafts. Results showed a median of 525 hair follicles per cubic centimeter, with a mean of 19.47 grafts inserted and 16.22 grafts surviving. After 6 months, all patients showed normal results with no abnormalities. The study concluded that nanofat, rich in stem cells, enhances skin quality and blood supply, potentially improving hair graft survival in cicatricial alopecia treatment.

The conversation discusses the potential of long-chain unsaturated fatty acids, like oleic and linoleic acid, as an additional treatment for hair loss, which may inhibit the enzyme responsible for converting testosterone to DHT and promote hair growth. Users humorously suggest using oils topically and discuss other hair loss treatments, but the main focus is on the science behind fatty acids and their role in hair health.
