TLDR Nanotechnology can improve food safety, nutrition, and health, but safety and regulation challenges need addressing.
Nanotechnology has significant potential in food production, nutrition, and health due to its unique properties. Recent advancements include the use of nanoparticles to improve food safety and quality through antimicrobial packaging and intelligent sensing. In nutrition, nanocarrier-based systems like liposomes and nanoemulsions enhance the bioavailability of active substances. For health interventions, nanotechnology enables precise nutritional delivery and chronic illness prevention. However, challenges such as safety evaluations and regulatory issues remain. Future research should focus on refining nanomaterial preparation, understanding their metabolism in the body, and improving safety standards for sustainable progress.
