This dissertation explores the use of nanoparticles in anti-aging cosmetic products, highlighting their benefits in delivering active ingredients. Despite their potential, there is a significant lack of awareness among professionals and consumers about these products. A review of literature from 2020 to 2025 shows that gold, silver, and titanium dioxide nanoparticles are the most studied, with natural extracts being commonly used active ingredients. However, safety concerns have led to a European Union regulation requiring the removal of many metallic nanoparticles from the market by November 2025. Urgent conclusive studies on their safety are needed for their potential return to the cosmetics industry.
