TLDR Natural hair oils are beneficial for hair care, but future use must balance effectiveness, safety, and sustainability.
Natural hair oils, derived from plant seeds, fruits, or kernels, are integral to cosmetic science, offering benefits like nourishment, scalp conditioning, and hair protection due to their rich bioactive composition. Oils such as coconut, argan, and olive are effective in reducing protein loss, enhancing shine, and improving scalp health. Modern applications include emulsion-based serums and sprays, with innovations like nanoemulsions and AI-driven personalization emerging. Despite growing consumer demand for herbal and organic oils, safety concerns such as dermatological sensitization and regulatory compliance are crucial. The future of natural hair oils lies in balancing efficacy, safety, and sustainability, highlighting their potential in cosmetic science.
