TLDR Bee venom, fig, and geranium oil can effectively treat skin conditions and are safer alternatives to some conventional drugs.
The review explores the potential of natural therapeutic agents, including bee venom (BV), Ficus carica (FC), and geranium essential oil (GEO), in treating various skin conditions. These agents exhibit anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antioxidant effects, offering promising alternatives to conventional treatments. BV has shown benefits in conditions like acne, psoriasis, vitiligo, and alopecia, with studies involving 136 human participants demonstrating its efficacy in atopic dermatitis. FC and GEO also show significant therapeutic properties, with FC proving effective in reducing atopic dermatitis symptoms in a trial with 45 children. BV and FC have shown potential in promoting hair growth and treating wrinkles, while GEO is effective against acne and microbial skin conditions. The review highlights the safety and efficacy of these natural agents, suggesting their viability as alternative treatments for skin diseases.
