The study presents the development of a next-generation herbal hair oil designed to treat fungal scalp disorders such as dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis. Utilizing a green pharmaceutical approach, the formulation incorporates potent plant-derived antifungal agents like neem oil, tea tree oil, fenugreek extract, tulsi extract, and Nigella sativa oil enriched with thymoquinone. The oil demonstrated strong antifungal activity against Malassezia furfur, Candida albicans, Trichophyton rubrum, and Aspergillus niger, with efficacy comparable to clotrimazole 1%. It also showed high antioxidant potential, ensuring oxidative stability and scalp protection. Preclinical safety studies indicated negligible irritation, making it suitable for repeated use. Additionally, in vivo studies showed a 26% increase in hair density after 28 days, highlighting its potential as a safe and effective herbal alternative for managing fungal scalp disorders while promoting hair health.
