TLDR The new herbal dry shampoo is eco-friendly, cleans well, and is safe to use.
A novel dry hair shampoo powder was developed using traditional Indian botanicals such as Shikakai, Reetha, Neem, Amla, Hibiscus, Ginger, and Aloe vera, offering an eco-friendly alternative to synthetic shampoos. The formulation process included solar drying, pulverization, and blending of these botanicals, resulting in a product with favorable physicochemical properties, including a pH range of 5.2-5.4, good flow characteristics, and satisfactory foaming ability. The shampoo demonstrated effective cleansing properties with an 85% cleaning efficiency and showed good solubility and foam stability. Safety evaluations in animal models indicated no adverse effects, and the product met pharmaceutical standards for ash value and moisture content, confirming its stability and quality.
