TLDR Lifestyle changes and a balanced diet can improve thyroid health in people with hypothyroidism.
Hypothyroidism, a prevalent endocrine disorder, particularly in developing countries like India, results from insufficient thyroid hormone production or activity. It is more common in women and older adults, with symptoms including fatigue, weight gain, hair loss, and cold intolerance. Diagnosis relies on assessing TSH, T4, and T3 levels. Besides medication, lifestyle changes such as regular exercise, yoga, stress management, and a balanced diet rich in iodine, selenium, zinc, and iron can enhance thyroid health and overall well-being in affected individuals.
