TLDR Oral isotretinoin effectively treated a young girl's scalp condition after other treatments failed.
An 11-year-old Black female with dissecting cellulitis of the scalp (DCS), a rare inflammatory disorder causing painful nodules and hair loss, showed an excellent response to oral isotretinoin after failing to improve with various antibiotics and corticosteroid therapies. This case highlights the challenges in treating DCS, particularly in children, and underscores the need for awareness of effective management options to improve patient outcomes.
