TLDR Most young patients found oral minoxidil helpful for hair loss and were willing to continue using it.
A cross-sectional survey of 43 patients under age 25 using low-dose oral minoxidil for hair loss revealed that 81% reported at least slight satisfaction with the treatment, while 93% believed the benefits outweighed potential side effects such as dizziness, palpitations, or hypertrichosis. The study included patients with alopecia areata (72%) and androgenetic alopecia (26%), with a median treatment duration of 7 months. Despite some dissatisfaction due to lack of efficacy or slow onset, the majority expressed a strong willingness to continue therapy, indicating moderate satisfaction and perceived benefit in pediatric and adolescent populations.
