TLDR Tofacitinib effectively improves lichen planus pigmentosus symptoms.
This retrospective study evaluated the effectiveness and safety of oral tofacitinib in treating lichen planus pigmentosus (LPP) in 15 patients over 13 months. The study found significant improvements in the physician global assessment (PGA), dermal pigmentation area and severity index (DPASI), and patient satisfaction score (PSS) after treatment. Median PGA decreased from 4 to 1, DPASI from 18.24 to 4, and PSS increased from 2 to 4, all with p-values less than 0.001. The results suggest that tofacitinib is a viable alternative treatment for patients with LPP who do not respond to conventional management.
