TLDR Lichen Sclerosus causes itching, pain, and potential complications in the genital area.
The study aimed to develop a core outcome set for genital lichen sclerosus (LS) by identifying important outcome domains through an online survey with 653 respondents, including 404 patients/carers and 222 healthcare professionals. Thematic analysis revealed six key themes: symptoms (itching and pain), quality of life, sexual dysfunction, appearance, progression of the condition, and management of the condition. The findings emphasized the need for better awareness, earlier diagnosis, and improved treatment options for LS. These themes were intended to guide the development of a core outcome set through the CORALS initiative, which sought international consensus on core outcome domains for LS research and management.
