Utilization of Papaya Seed Oil and Virgin Coconut Oil in Pomade Formulation and Effectiveness Test

This study explored the formulation of pomade using papaya seed oil and virgin coconut oil (VCO) at concentrations of 5%, 7.5%, and 10%, assessing its stability and effectiveness. The pomade, designed to enhance hair shine and moisture while preserving pigment, underwent various tests including organoleptic, homogeneity, irritation, and stability tests. Results indicated that all formulations were stable, homogeneous, and non-irritating, with a pH range of 5.3–6.5 and spreadability of 4.3–6.5 cm. The most preferred formulation was the 7.5% concentration, which had a cream color and a green tea scent. Overall, the combination of papaya seed oil and VCO proved effective for long-term hair care.
