TLDR Patients with alopecia areata using Janus kinase inhibitors are not following lab monitoring guidelines.
The study analyzed adherence to lab monitoring guidelines for patients with alopecia areata (AA) using Janus kinase inhibitors (JAKi) at a specialty hair clinic. A retrospective chart review of 57 patients revealed that most were not adhering to the recommended lab monitoring frequency of every three months. Significant differences in blood test intervals were observed between adherent and non-adherent patients, with p-values less than 0.01. The conclusion emphasizes the need for new strategies to improve adherence to lab monitoring protocols for patients undergoing JAKi treatment.
