Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a complex disorder affecting the endocrine and metabolic systems, often leading to symptoms such as anovulation, infertility, obesity, insulin resistance, and polycystic ovaries. The causes of PCOS are varied and can include environmental pollutants, genetic factors, gut dysbiosis, neuroendocrine alterations, and oxidative stress. These factors contribute to irregular menstrual cycles and obesity in individuals with PCOS.
