TLDR Awareness of Penile Thread Tourniquet Syndrome is crucial for preventing severe complications in children.
Penile Thread Tourniquet Syndrome (PTTS) is a rare pediatric emergency where a thread or hair constricts the penis, potentially causing severe complications like necrosis and penile amputation. This case report highlights an unusual instance in a 10-year-old boy, where a thread at the penoscrotal junction led to infection and swelling but no urethral damage. Surgical and conservative treatments were successful, underscoring the importance of awareness in atypical age groups and rare penile injuries.
