Periodontal Manifestations of Diseases Related to Female Sex Steroid Hormones

    This narrative review explores how fluctuations in female sex steroid hormone levels affect periodontal health in women, highlighting that these hormonal changes can increase susceptibility and severity of periodontal diseases. The review includes clinical studies published before February 2024, emphasizing that women experience hormone level changes at different life stages, which, along with disease-related changes, result in specific periodontal manifestations. The review suggests that collaboration between dentists and gynecologists is crucial for early diagnosis and treatment of these conditions.
