TLDR White grapevine leaves, especially 'Razaki', have high phenolic content, useful for health products.
This study analyzed the phenolic profile of grapevine leaves from four autochthonous cultivars in Isparta, Türkiye, revealing significant variations in phenolic content. The total phenolic content ranged from 3.25 to 7.38 mg CE·g-1, and total flavanol content ranged from 67.66 to 120.24 mg CE·g-1. White cultivars, particularly 'Razaki', exhibited higher phenolic content and flavonol richness compared to red cultivars, suggesting their potential as valuable resources for developing functional products in pharmaceuticals, food supplements, and cosmetics. The study highlights the underutilized potential of grape leaves, which contain various phenolic compounds beneficial for health.
