TLDR Pilomatricoma is a rare, benign skin tumor that requires surgical removal for best results.
Pilomatricoma is a rare benign tumor originating from hair follicle matrix cells, often associated with β-catenin gene mutations. This case study of a 32-year-old male with a Pilomatricoma in the left infraorbital region highlights the importance of accurate diagnosis through clinical and histopathological examination, as it can be confused with other conditions. The primary treatment is complete surgical excision, which ensures favorable outcomes and reduces recurrence risk. The patient in the study showed no recurrence at a 6-month follow-up. Early detection and treatment are crucial for better cosmetic outcomes and minimizing risks, with a low recurrence rate of 0%-3% and rare malignant transformation.
