TLDR There is no direct link between pilomatrixoma and PCOS.
The document explores the potential correlation between pilomatrixoma, a benign skin tumor, and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), a complex endocrine disorder. A case study of a 13-year-old female with pilomatrixoma and mild polycystic ovarian changes is presented, highlighting shared factors such as hormonal influences and immune dysregulation. Despite these shared factors, the study concludes that there is no direct correlation between pilomatrixoma and PCOS. The conditions remain distinct, with separate clinical management, although shared hormonal and genetic factors suggest areas for further research.
