TLDR The herbal oil promotes hair growth and scalp health effectively.
The study focused on formulating and evaluating a polyherbal Ayurvedic hair regrowth oil containing extracts of Bhringraj, Amla, Brahmi, Hibiscus, and Fenugreek. Three formulations were developed and assessed for physicochemical properties and hair growth-promoting activity. Formulation F2 showed optimal characteristics with a pH of 6.6 and viscosity of 1280 cP, demonstrating good stability. Hair growth studies on albino rats indicated significant enhancement in hair growth initiation and length compared to the control group, with results comparable to standard treatments. The effectiveness is attributed to the synergistic effects of phytoconstituents like flavonoids and antioxidants. The study suggests the formulation is promising for promoting hair growth and reducing hair fall, recommending further clinical trials for human efficacy and safety.
