TLDR Bay leaf extract in pomade promotes hair growth.
The study explored the use of bay leaf extract (Syzygium polyanthum) in pomade to promote hair growth in New Zealand White rabbits. Four formulations were tested, with the highest concentration (30% extract) resulting in the most significant hair growth of 1.0 cm over 28 days, compared to 0.4 cm for lower concentrations and 0.2 cm for the control. The findings, supported by statistical analysis, suggest that bay leaf extract is effective in stimulating hair growth and warrant further research on its long-term safety and efficacy for hair care products.
