Premarital Counseling in Relation to Common STDs, Andrological and Dermatological Disorders in Menoufia Governorate

    TLDR Expanding premarital screening to include skin conditions, STDs, infertility, and male disorders can improve marriage stability.
    The study evaluated the premarital screening (PMS) program in Egypt, focusing on common sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and dermatological disorders among 73 newly married individuals. Results showed that 30.1% had STDs, with genital warts and herpes being most common, and 42.5% had chronic skin conditions like psoriasis and alopecia. Among males, 12 experienced infertility and 7 had erectile dysfunction. The study concluded that expanding the PMS program to include disfiguring dermatological conditions, STDs, infertility, and andrological disorders would enhance marriage stability.
