Prevalance of Metabolic Syndrome in men with androgenetic alopecia: A cross-sectional study

This cross-sectional study conducted at Bahawal Victoria Hospital assessed the prevalence of metabolic syndrome in 95 men aged 20 to 50 with androgenetic alopecia. Excluding those with other conditions, the study found that 16.84% of participants had metabolic syndrome, indicating a substantial prevalence among this group. The findings support the connection between androgenetic alopecia and metabolic syndrome, which includes conditions like hypertension and insulin resistance, linked to higher cardiovascular disease risk.
