TLDR Pigmented papules on the ear can be a rare skin condition called cutaneous amyloidosis, treatable with topical tretinoin.
A 38-year-old Indian woman presented with asymptomatic pigmented papules on her ear pinna, diagnosed as primary localized cutaneous amyloidosis, a rare condition not linked to systemic diseases. Dermoscopy and biopsy confirmed the diagnosis, showing characteristic amyloid deposits. The lesions resolved after 5 months of topical tretinoin treatment. This case highlights the importance of considering cutaneous amyloidosis in the differential diagnosis of pigmented papules on the pinna.
