Printable Hairline Designs and Hectographic Templates: Novel Tools for Hairline Creation and Graft Placement in Men

Mauro Speranzini, Solon Eduardo Gouveia Souza, Cristina Nakano, Robert H. True
TLDR Printable templates improve hair transplant accuracy and efficiency.
The article introduces a novel method for improving hair transplantation outcomes in men by using printable design templates to standardize hairline creation and graft placement. Two templates are highlighted: Design I, which aids in hairline planning using anatomical and aesthetic landmarks, and Design II, a grid for precise graft density planning. These templates can be customized, stored digitally, and printed onto thermal tattoo transfer paper for application on the scalp, providing consistent and aesthetically pleasing surgical guides. This approach enhances accuracy, reduces planning time, and assists less experienced surgeons. Future integration with AI could further personalize and automate the process.

      community Verteporfin and Microneedling

      in Treatments 1 year ago
Clinical studies by Dr. Barghouthi and Dr. Bloxham indicate that Verteporfin, when used with FUE and FUT hair transplantation methods, shows promise in hair follicle regeneration and minimal scarring due to its ability to inhibit Yes-associated protein (YAP). Microneedling at depths of 3-3.5mm, combined with Verteporfin, could potentially reactivate dormant follicles, although the optimal dosage and application method are still under investigation. Concerns remain about the DHT sensitivity of regenerated follicles, highlighting the need for further research to optimize trauma levels and Verteporfin concentrations to achieve effective and scar-free hair regeneration.
