TLDR A rare foot cyst was successfully diagnosed and removed without cancer.
Trichilemmal cysts, typically found on the scalp, are rarely located on the plantar surface. This case report discusses a 27-year-old male with a trichilemmal cyst on the lateral plantar surface of his left foot, causing discomfort but not affecting daily activities. Over two years, the mass enlarged, and imaging showed a subcutaneous mass with specific characteristics. Surgical removal and histopathological analysis confirmed the diagnosis, revealing a cystic structure with trichilemmal-type keratin and no signs of malignancy. This case emphasizes the rarity of plantar trichilemmal cysts and the necessity of histological examination for accurate diagnosis.
