TLDR Intraprostatic injection and high-frequency thermotherapy are more effective for treating prostatitis after TURP than antibiotics, tamsulosin, and finasteride.
The study investigated the diagnosis and treatment of residual prostatitis after transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) in 85 patients. Participants were divided into two groups: Group A received prostate injection, massage, and external high-frequency thermotherapy, while Group B was treated with antibiotics, tamsulosin hydrochloride, and finasteride. After 2 months, Group A showed a greater reduction in the Chronic Prostatitis Symptom Index (CPSI) scores and higher rates of white blood cell reduction and bacterial clearance compared to Group B. The study concluded that the treatment involving prostate injection, massage, and thermotherapy was more effective than the antibiotic-based regimen.
