This systematic review analyzed clinical research on platelet-rich plasma (PRP) for treating androgenetic alopecia and compared it with traditional finasteride treatment. The review included 5 studies on PRP and 5 on finasteride, involving a total of 3,538 patients. The studies were evaluated using the level 2 CEMB criteria, with only two PRP studies and one finasteride study scoring 9 out of 10. The results indicated that PRP is significantly more effective than finasteride, promoting higher hair growth in a shorter time with minimal to no side effects.
