TLDR Growth Factor Concentrate is more effective than Platelet-Rich Plasma for improving hair density and thickness.
A study involving 130 patients compared the effectiveness of Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) and Growth Factor Concentrate (GFC) in treating androgenic alopecia and telogen effluvium. Results showed that GFC significantly increased hair count and thickness more than PRP at all follow-ups, with higher patient satisfaction and similar safety profiles. Adverse effects were mild and more frequent in the PRP group. Overall, GFC proved to be a more effective treatment option for improving hair density and thickness.
