Pseudopelade: An Inherited Alopecia

The study focused on pseudopelade, a rare form of progressive alopecia characterized by atrophic loss of hair follicles without an initial inflammatory phase, distinguishing it from other scarring alopecias. The research involved reviewing reported cases, particularly those with a familial history, and included observations of a young man and his mother, along with two other familial cases. The findings indicated that pseudopelade is a distinct autosomal dominant disorder, suggesting a genetic basis for the condition.
