TLDR The cat's hair loss and skin issues improved with less stress and more owner attention.
This case report describes a Persian cat diagnosed with suspected psychogenic alopecia and secondary dermatitis, likely triggered by environmental stress. The cat exhibited hair loss, redness, and crusting, with no infectious agents found. Initial treatment with antihistamines, a special diet, and hypoallergenic shampoo in a low-stress environment led to significant improvement. However, symptoms relapsed in a high-stress home environment with many cats. The cat recovered again after receiving more attention and interaction from the owner, highlighting the role of environmental stress and behavioral factors in the condition.
