Impact on Quality of Life in Patients with Androgenetic Alopecia Undergoing Hair Transplantation Surgery in a Clinic

The study examined the impact of androgenetic alopecia on the quality of life in 120 patients who sought hair transplantation surgery at a clinic in Kathmandu. The participants, aged 19 to 49 with a mean age of 31.87, were assessed using the dermatology quality of life index. The average score was 2.79, indicating a small overall effect on quality of life. However, 48.33% of patients reported self-consciousness, while only 3.33% experienced an impact on sexual activity. The study concluded that while androgenetic alopecia had a minor effect on quality of life for most, it significantly affected some individuals' psychological well-being and social interactions.
